LA PELL DE LA CIUTAT IN SALT
This project has been developed on the frame of “La pell de la ciutat” cooperative, founded in 2015 by several member of Lemur in collaboration with Elena Guim and Mar Valldeoriola, dissolved in 2017.
La pell de la ciutat in Salt project is framed on the “Community Plan for childhood, families and young people of Salt”, which has motivated “For a better Salt” project and was part of “Intercultural Community Intervention Project” (ICI) that La Caixa Foundation develops on national scale, and, in Salt case, in collaboration with local City Council and “Children’s House for Social Action in the neighborhood”.
The project was developed on six stages (knowing, experimenting, mapping, proposal, celebration, evaluation) where a group of dynamics using different techniques aiming: connection and acknowledgement of the body as main source of spontaneous discovery and evaluation of the reality that surrounds us; living and direct exploration of streets and public spaces through urban routes, games and photographical recording exercises; mapping dynamics and proposal elaboration for the transformation of the area.
The participants have been 5th grade children from “La Farga” school, all of them coming from migrant families of moroccan, sub-saharan, pakistani, and latin american origin.

- Listening and enhancing voices and unattended needs on territory transformation processes, in Salt case, childhood and migrants collectives needs.
- Showing the complexity and diversity of public spaces of the city through the sight of children.
- Empowering children to get involved on an active and compromised role on the transformation of their own day-to-day habitat.
